ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਖ ਵਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਖਾਂਦਰੂ ਵਿਦਿਅਰਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਗ
ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਮਿਤੀ 8 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ॰ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਸਟਰੱਕਟਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ
ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਢੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਜੀ ਆਇਆ ਆਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂੰ
ਕਰਵਾਉਦਿਆਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਆਈਟਮਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਢੱਟ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ/
ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰਥਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਦੀ
ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਉਪਰ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਿੱਕੂ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ, ਖਿਦੋ, ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਖਿਡੌਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲਾ ਬੁਣਨਾ
ਸਿਖਾਇਆ। ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਮਿਸ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ।
ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਮਿਤੀ 9 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਢੱਟ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੂ,
ਰੱਸਾ, ਪਰਾਂਦਾ, ਗੁੱਡੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ, ਪੀਹੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੋਸ਼ੀਆ ਬੁਣਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੁਲਕਾਰੀ ਕੱਢਣਾ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ
ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਸ॰ ਜਸਮੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢੱਟ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ
ਹਿੰਮਤ,ਸਬਰ,ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ, ਗਿਆਨ ਆਦਿ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਦੀਆਂ
ਖੂਬੀਆਂ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ, ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂੰ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਮੁਖੀ ਹੋਮ-ਸਾਇਸ
ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਡਾ ਕੰਵਲਜੀਤ

KCW ORGANISES “FOODIE STREET”
The Department of Business Management at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines
organized a food marketing event “Foodie Street” for the students of BBA with the objective
of teaching the skills for customer interaction, engagement and customer satisfaction along
with teaching them the skills required to be a good entrepreneur. Around 18 stalls were put up
of different food items and students enjoyed the activity with full vigor and enthusiasm. All
students were given participation certificates. Dr Mukti Gill, Director of the college and Dr
Iqbal Kaur, Principal appreciated the efforts put in by the department for focusing on teaching
practical skills to the students and nurturing them as good entrepreneurs.
KCW STUDENTS VISIT TERI OAT VIKLANG SANSTHA
The members of the Rotaract club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines,
Ludhiana have celebrated birthdays of 3 members of the club with children of Teri
Oat Viklang Sanstha on 07. 02.2024. The initiative was taken by the club to
inculcate the value of belongingness, positive attitude and optimistic behavior
among the students. Moreover, engaging in such activities is beneficial to both
physical and mental health as staying socially active can help prevent social
isolation and loneliness. The children of the Sanstha danced on the music, played
games and had great time with the students. Ma’am Iqbal Kaur appreciated the
efforts of the club and we assured them to pay regular visit to their NGO.
KCW Youth Red Cross Club visited Fortis Hospital
The Youth Red Cross Club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized a visit to Fortis hospital, Mall Road, Ludhiana. The objective was to participate in the Cervical Cancer awareness campaign and to sensitize students about cervical cancer so as to raise awareness about the condition which is becoming common in the women nowadays.
Dr. Arti Gupta Tuli, Gynecologist and an expert delivered a lecture on the cervical cancer and apprise the students about the prevention, treatment and cure of the disease. She further highlighted various stages and the risk factors such as early marriage, weak immune system, multiple pregnancies, smoking and poor genital hygiene are some of the causes leading to the rise of cervical cancer among women. Dr. Tuli while stressing upon the importance of screening tests also informed the students about the vaccination that can immune a human body from various other conditions.
The college Principal Dr. Iqbal Kaur appreciated the efforts of the Red Cross Club staff members for organizing participation of our students in the cervical cancer awareness month. She also encouraged the students to sensitize about the issue to the girls and women around them.

INTERACTIVE SESSION ON CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING
The Career Coaching Cell, Khalsa College For Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized an interactive session on Career Guidance and Counseling on February 2,2024.Around 200 students from various streams participated in this Extensive Session. The initiative was taken by AIESEC Ludhiana, an organization educating youth regarding choice of career and advanced soft skills required to survive in this dynamic scenario. While addressing the participants, the resource persons Kanishka Bisht and Pravneet Kaur aimed at importance of formulating a comprehensive strategy for realization of career related goals and aspirations. Through interactive PowerPoint Presentation, they guided the students about various career opportunities available in different fields. They discussed the need for professional and personal development and selection of right career as per their skillsets. In this interactive session, students were asked to think about their dreams and ways to achieve them. They were made to realize the importance of having big dreams and the confidence to fulfill them. The aim of the seminar was to educate students about how to prepare themselves to excel in their chosen field. The resource persons deliberated on the dynamic and impactful initiatives led by AIESEC, a youth run organization dedicated to fostering youth leadership. Participants not only gained practical skills but also honed essential soft skills like communication and teamwork. In essence, the session through unique way of presentation empowered students to thrive both professionally and personally.
‘Journey of a Super woman’: Interactive Session held at Khalsa College for Women
The Student Council of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organised an Interactive session with first transgender student of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The objective of the session was to spread awareness on the sensitive issues of Gender stereotypes, Gender Discrimination through the life and journey of Mx Dhananjay Chauhan, who fought for the rights of transgender community.
Mx Dhananjays’ acquiring Master degrees in social work and Human Rights and duties speaks volumes about her courage and awareness to raise a voice in the most appropriate manner. She fought legal battles and turned the tide in the favour of transgender community which led to many new amendments and provisions catering to the needs of the community. She has been an active member of various organisations such as Transgender Welfare Board Chandigarh, International Inter Pride – International Association of LGBTI Pride Organizers, South Asia Human Rights Association (Norway) etc. She serves as International Equality Officer of National Indian Students Alumini Union ( NISAU – United Kingdom), Master trainer of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy Phillor, Ludhiana and Master trainer of NACO and Drugs abuse (Ministry of Social Justice and employment Government of India). Mx Chauhan’s good work garnered a lot of appreciation from all corners of the country. She has been awarded with more than 150 awards and honours by different organizations and NGO’s across the nation. She has to her kitty the best social worker award by Hope foundation. She has been honoured by Governor of Punjab for good service for society, Chandigarh state award by Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, awarded by Chandigarh Municipal Corporation on 15th August 2023 for welfare of Transgender in the society. Her work has also been acknowledged by many educational organisations across the country.
While addressing the students Mx Chauhan deliberated upon the concepts of gender and identity, gender roles and gender expression. She says that, “ I am right gender in the wrong world” and highlighted the role of patriarchy that led to the hardships and turmoil for the other genders. She further emphasized that gender is a social construct and brings identity crisis for the transgender community. She narrated journey of her life and the struggles she faced as a transgender. She also appreciated the social involvement and inclusive attitude of the society in the present scenario.
The college Principal Dr. Iqbal Kaur extended gratitude and appreciation to the speaker of the day for her excellent work and contribution towards her community. She further congratulated the coordinators Dr. Khushdeep Kaur and Mrs. Poonam Pathak for organizing a talk on such an issue on the platform to sensitize students about the concerns of transgender community.
Celebration of Republic Day (26-01-2024)
Department of Political Science, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines,Ludhiana celebrated Republic Day on 26th January, 2024. An Equiz was organised As a part of Republic Day celebration, an online quiz competition on the theme of Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,” was organized. Totally 230 participants have registered for this event. It was a competition where participants showcased their brainstorming talent by attending different questionnaires based on the above theme. We used “Google Platform” for the multiple-choice quiz that was accessed via a web browser. Not only this, the presentation was also shown to students which vividly expressed the significance of the day. The objective behind celebrating the day was to aware students about the uniqueness of Indian constitution. In spite of this, the students come to know how determination and education can change the fortune of anyone. The students also learn that one should not give up on oneself even if the odds are against one.

Organised Yoga Workshop
Women Cell of Khalsa college for Women,Civil Lines, Ludhiana organised one day yoga workshop on 25th January, 2024 in the college. Yoga Master teacher S.Jaspreet Singh told the students about benefits of various asanas and also guided them correct way to do such asanas .He also suggested them to have balance diet along with exercise. In addition, he interacted with the students regarding their personal problems. Officiating Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Iqbal Kaur expressed her gratitude to S.Jaspreet Singh.
