‘Drug Free Punjab’ Rally was organized by about 200 NCC cadets during the ongoing NCC Camp at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana on behalf of 3rd Punjab Girls Battalion NCC. GCI Preeti and Pratibha, Subedar Jai Singh, Subedar Major Surendra Kumar, Training Officer Chander Sharma and Pallavi joined the rally along with the cadets to spread awareness among general public regarding ill effects of drug consumption. The youth who are the bright future of our country, today they are playing with their future by falling into the bad addiction of drugs. The purpose of taking out this rally of the cadets was to inspire the young girl cadets to take a pledge to make Punjab a ‘drug free Punjab’. All the cadets also took an oath that they would neither consume drugs nor allow anyone to do so .The whole market resonated with their enthusiasm and enthusiastic slogans of drug de-addiction. 

To make Punjab drug-free is the dream of the Government of India as well as all the people of Punjab. To fulfill this dream, the objective of the drug-free Punjab campaign is not only to make the general public aware about the ill effects of drugs, but also to form a mass movement against drugs, so that every person joins and contributes against drugs.

Under the aegis of Col Aman Yadav, 3 Punjab Girls Bn NCC Ludhiana, youngNCC cadets from various schools and colleges of Ludhiana were given a chance to fire with weapon.22 Deluxe Rifle during combined annual training camp at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana  . While firing,these girls practically experienced live firing, got training regarding the essentials of firing, including good holding, good aiming and good trigger operation. The girl cadets were given.22 rifles and a dry practice session was conducted one day prior at Khalsa College for Women. The cadets were divided into four companies for the exercise. ANO Captain Paramjeet Kaur from KCW, Third Officer Chander Sharma from KVM, and CTO Gurpreet Kaur from SDP along with a team of trainers were present at the firing range. The staff enthusiastically apprised the cadets about all the essential aspects of firing. Colonel Yadav said in his statement said that maximum number of girls are required to join the NCC, an organization which inculcates the qualities of comradeship, integrity, team spirit, discipline and philanthropy among the cadets. Providing training to girls will boost their confidence and would empower them to fight against any kind of violence and abuse. They will be proactive to face the problems of their daily lives with courage and be able to help others as responsible citizens.

CATC 85 NCC Camp has been organized by 3 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC from 27^th July to 5^th August 2022 at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana. Around 350 cadets from different schools and colleges are participating in this camp. Camp Commandant Col Aman Yadav, in his welcome address on July 27, made the students acquainted with all the rules of this camp and also mentioned about various activities that will be taking place in the camp. Under the guidance of Colonel Yadav, all the activities in this camp have been set with the aim of imparting combat skills and military training to the young students. During the camp, cadets will be given drill training as well as detailed knowledge about NCC A, B and C certificate examination. Young cadets will be taught myriad subjects like Map Reading, Field Craft and Battle Craft, Personality Development, Army Recruitment etc. They will also be imparted weapons training along with firing experience. Various games and other competitions will also be organized daily in the evening. 8 Associate NCC Officers from various institutions along with2 Girl Cadet Instructors and about 25 Parade Instructors (PIs) are ready to train the students for upcoming 10 days. All the cadets are excited to participate in all the activities of the camp with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Eco-Club, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines organised a plantation Drive to celebrate Vanmahautsav in collaboration with Jeev Janta Parayavaran Sambhal Sewa Samiti, an NGO, under the stewardship of Shri Subash Sondhi, President of the NGO. The Drive was carried on 23-7-2022 by Dr. Ravinder Kochar, Director Lord Mahavira Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Shri Subash Sondhi, Principal, Staff and students of the college. Saplings were planted in the campus, voicing a message of nature conservation while adding to the beauty of the campus. The objective of the drive was to sensitive everyone about the urgency to save our deteriorating ecosystem and focus on sustainable development.

The Principal Dr. Mukti Gill, extended heartfelt gratitude to the President Shri Subash Sondhi and congratulated the NGO for their efforts towards the cause of saving the planet. She further emphasized that the addressing the environmental concerns for sustainable development is need of the hour.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organized an extension lecture on, ‘ Distressing yourself in Stressful Times’ to motivate the students to lead a stress-free life. The lecture was organized on a virtual platform wherein around 100 students participated and reaped the benefits.

The speaker Dr. Aditi Satija, Head Department of Psychology, deliberated upon various causes leading to stress and also shared techniques to overcome stress issues. She further emphasized that the fast changing structures and life style are the reasons of stress. She said that it is only 10% of the situation that creates stress but 90% of it is based on our reaction. She apprised the students about various exercises to keep the stress at bay. The session was concluded with an interactive session where the queries of the students were answered satisfactorily.

The Principal Dr. Mukti Gill extended Thanks to the speaker while appreciating the efforts of the club members. She also motivated the students to lead a happy and stress free life.

Scholarships were provided by Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi to the meritorious students of Sanskrit department of Khalsa College for Women. 

Under this scheme of development of Sanskrit education, 8 girl students receive scholarship worth Rs.8000/- for the year 2019-2020.

Principal Dr. Mukti Gill appreciates the efforts made by Madam Mandeep Arora, Head of Sanskrit Department and congratulated the students & boosted their enthusiasm and motivated them to read the literature of Sanskrit language and to know its various aspects.

Since ancient times, yoga is a cultural heritage of India. It has been practiced from several thousand years in India, as it deals with physical, mental, emotional, spiritual well being and coordination of  body and mind. With the aim of initiating a step towards social and mental development of society, NCC department of  Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized a mega event to celebrate ‘8^th International Yoga Day’ on 21^st June 2022  in co-ordination of 3Pb Girls Bn. NCC Ludhiana. The event was organised under the stewardship of College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill, Commanding Officer of 3 Pb Girls Bn. NCC Ludhiana Col. Aman Yadav  and college Associate NCC Officer, Capt. (Dr.) Paramjeet Kaur, as per the guidance of  Ministry of Ayush, with a theme ‘100 Day, 100 Cities and 100 Organisations’. As many as 102 cadets and alumni members of NCC assembled in the college ground to perform the yoga asanas from 7:00 am to 8:00 am.

Mr. Jaspreet Singh (a certified yoga teacher and personal trainer from USA) was the resource person of this yoga event. NCC staff, college staff and cadets performed various asanas together to spread awareness on the philosophy of Yoga amongst young blood. The cadets practiced myriad asanas such as Vajra asana, Taada asana, Bhujanga asana, Tricona asana,  Makra asana, Shava asana, Sarvaang asana, Pranayma, body alignment and adjustment and  many more under the guidance of Mr. Jaspreet Singh. The event ignited the flame of Yoga in the hearts of cadets, staff and many others. College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts put in by the college NCC Department. The event proved to be successful in spreading the idea of fitness and awareness for good health amongst upcoming generation.

Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines Ludhiana, holds Annual Convocation for the session 2018-19, wherein 1300 students were awarded with degrees of Post Graduation, Post graduate diplomas and graduate diplomas. Luminary Dr. Navtej Singh Bains, former Director of Research, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, presided over the function and delivered the convocation address. The guest was accorded a warm welcome by the esteemed members of college Managing Committee, Madam Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill, entire staff and the students of college at his arrival in the college premises. The function commenced with an invocation to God. Madam Principal riveted the audience by presenting the annual report of the college through multimedia and in that she highlighted the achievements of students in academic, cultural and sports arena for the session 2020-21. She highlighted that the persistent hard work of the students reaped rich dividends in the year 2019-20 and 2020-21, where in students secured various 82 & 79 Top Ten positions in the university exams respectively. She highlighted the achievements of Physical Education Department and stated that it managed to clinch 37 Gold Medals, 31 Silver Medals, and 60 Bronze Medals. The college clinched the overall trophy at Zonal as well as Inter Zonal Youth Festival. Students bagged 49 prizes in all (20 first, 16 second, & 13 third prizes) at the P.U Zonal Youth Festival held at Khalsa College for Women from 17th November, 2021 to 21st November, 2021. At the Inter-Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival organized at A.S. College Khanna, College students procured 20 prizes in all (5 first, 6 second & 10 third prizes).

07 students were conferred with the Roll of Honor for their achieving excellence in academic activities. 50 students of the college were placed In different companies. In her address, she expressed the belief that the institution is committed to nurture the students not only academically but aims at their holistic growth.  She thanked   the managing committee for their untiring efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of the institution.

The guest for the occasion ignited the young minds with illuminating words. Addressing the degree holders the chief guest congratulated the students on their achieving academic excellence. In his speech he urged the students to learn the art of survival in the world which is changing at a fast pace and posing new challenges everyday. He further said that in this era of information you need to learn, unlearn and relearn to reinvent yourself to match with ever-changing paradigms of work culture. He emphasized that you must choose information with clarity so as to build for yourself a bright and promising future. The event met its conclusion with the beats of National Anthem.

The Chief Guest goaded the Students to take flight for a better Future and soar higher and higher. The event met its conclusion with the beats of National Anthem.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’ in 2014 with the aim to achieve universal sanitation and keeping our water bodies clean is a crucial step towards the attainment of this mission. Joining hands for this national cleanliness campaign, 28 cadets from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana conducted an event under the banner ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ on 9^th June 2022.  NCC cadets visited Budha Dariya, a seasonal water stream which passes through Ludhiana district and has become a waste dumping nullah in the recent time. The objectives of drive were to spread awareness amongst nearby residents regarding ill effects of dumping waste in dariya, collecting the plastic waste, offering unending support and contribution towards the ongoing work by various government agencies.

The campaign was undertaken under the stewardship of Col. Aman Yadav (Commanding Officer, 3 Punjab Girls Bn. NCC Ludhiana), College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill and Associate NCC Officer Capt. (Dr.) Paramjeet Kaur. The cadets indulged into various activities during their visit such as awareness rally in the nearby areas, spreading one to one awareness regarding the segregation of dry waste and wet waste, presentation of cleanliness theme with Nukkad Natak (Street Play), charts and slogans display etc. Young cadets urged the residents surrounding Budha Dariya to keep it garbage free and respect this water source. The campaign successfully created awareness on ill effects of dumping plastic waste in dariya, right technique of waste disposal, waste segregation and cleanliness of the surroundings. The common message of ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ was disseminated among masses via this programme.

 College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts put in by NCC department. She applauded cadets for their sincere efforts and motivated them to keep their nearby water bodies clean and safe. She also briefed the cadets about creative disposal of plastic waste in the form of recycling and utilizing the same in building and construction sectors and making use of environment friendly materials.
