THE EUPHORIA MEET 2022

PG Department of Commerce, Khalsa College For Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana extended an enthralling welcome to its B.Com & M.Com students on  September 24th,2022. All the students were in a mode and mood of merriment. Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill, worthy Principal of the college graced the occasion with her presence. All the students were decked up in the best of their attires. There came the sparkling relish in the show when juniors fired the ramp with a walk. It was modelling by them which animated the whole atmosphere. All the eyes were indeed glued to the Ramp Walkers. The title of Miss Confident was pocketed by Sakshi, Miss Fashionista by  Ridhima, Miss Ramp on Fire went to Sanmeet from B.com & Miss Elegant Ishika from M.com students. Diksha and Jasleen were 2nd and 1st runner-up from B Com 1st year. Last but to be listened the best the title of Miss Fresher was won by Parneet Kaur (B.Com) &Krishika (M.Com). The whole day had a taste, a spice, and a flavor with a difference. At last, all the students shook their legs with the DJ on the best peppy numbers. All the students thanked Dr. Priyanka Khanna, Head Dept. of Commerce for organizing such an enjoyable event for the students.

Orientation Programme held at KCW

Khalsa College for women civil lines Ludhiana organized an orientation program for the second-year students on 21, Sept 2022 in the college auditorium. The session was assembled by the department of psychology and sociology. Through power point presentation students were apprised of all aspects of the learning- including the mind, body, and spirit, giving attention to experimental learning and basic life skills to prepare them not only for various challenges of life but also to help them well acquainted with jobs and financial independence. Madam Principal motivated students with her valuable words as to how they can work upon their weaknesses welcome opportunities and how they can overcome the threats related to the planning of their future. She made a point by emphasizing the importance of digital behavior in today’s fast world. The session culminated with a Nukkad Natak on “End Racism, Build Peace” by the students of the sociology department to still the slogan raised for International Peace Day.

Industrial visit to Raj Soap Factories

Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College for Women, Civil lines, Ludhiana organized an industrial visit to Raj Soaps Industries, Sahnewal, Ludhiana on 21.09.2022 for B.Sc. III students accompanied by three faculty members and one lab attendant. As many as 50 students benefitted from this visit. Mr.Sagar, Production Manager, and Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Factory Manager took the students for a factory visit including QC Lab. Mr. Jasbir, Quality Manager gave a brief introduction of the company and explained the different phases of manufacturing soaps, viz, saponification, preparation, labeling, packing, and marketing with a live demonstration. During this whole tour, Mr. Deepak Shukla, Assistant Manager HR was the tour guide for the students. It was an informative visit as students got the opportunity to learn skills and techniques involved in manufacturing and production. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts of teachers and motivated the students to join such knowledge-based visits in the future for skill-based learning. Madam Principal thanked the team of Raj Industries for sparing their valuable time for the students.

World Peace Day marked at KCW

The department of Sociology in collaboration with the Rotaract club celebrated World Peace Day at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana on September 21, 2022. The objective of the initiative was to sensitize the students about the importance of co-existence irrespective of caste, color, and creed to bring harmony to society. The theme of the year was “End racism, Build peace!”

Students expressed their perspectives on building a peaceful society through an innovative creative activity. The students artistically decorated by painting graffiti on the walls of the open-air theatre of the college.  The vibrant hues spoke volumes about the importance of anti-racist humaneness while art on the walls celebrated people of all colors lending life its meaning and purpose.

Meanwhile,  a nukkad Natak was also staged on the same day to instill respect for multiculturalism and multi diversity.

The Principal applauded the efforts of the entire staff of the department of sociology and the Rotaract club members.

Biotech Department of KCW Outshines In PU Results

Department of Biotechnology, Khalsa College for Women, Civil lines, Ludhiana brought laurels to the college as Kashish Mittal, student of B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology stood first in Panjab University 4th Semester examination held in May 2022. Kashish Mittal secured 460 marks out of 500. The overall result of the college is 100% with all the students passing in the first division. She owed her success to the blessings of her parents, constant motivation from the college principal, and everlasting support from the department. The Management of the College congratulated the Principal, faculty members, and students for their stupendous achievements.

KCW GIRLS CLINCH TOP POSITIONS IN PANJAB UNIVERSITY MERIT LIST

The students of the Department of Business Management of Khalsa College for Women once again proved their mettle by clinching five positions in the University merit list for BBA 4th Semester examinations, the results of which were declared yesterday. Priya Rani stood first in the University with 87.81% marks,  Priya Aggarwal stood third in the university with 87.27 % marks Nisha was declared sixth in the university with 84.36 % Divanshi stood seventh in the university with 84.18% while Pawanjot Kaur stood eighth in the university in 83.63 percent marks.

“We had worked very hard to live up to the expectations of our parents and teachers but we could not believe it when mam told us that we had bagged University positions this semester. We had followed our teachers’ guidance and are thankful to them for all their support” shared the elated university position winners.  

The Principal of the college, Dr (Mrs.) Mukti Gill along with S. Gursimran Singh Grewal, Treasurer, and other members of the management congratulated the staff and students of the Business Management dept for the efforts put in and for showing such good results. 

Blood Donation Drive at KCW

Youth Red Cross Unit of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana started the first day of the Blood Donation Drive by awaring the students about Blood Donation in the college morning assembly. Vice President of  Student Council Ms. Bharti of B.Com-II made aware of the students regarding the organization of Mega voluntary Blood Donation camp on 17th September 2022 and Blood donation drive till 1st October 2022 by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Punjab. Asha Kumari of B.A-III & Arzoo Khurana of M.A-I presented posters on Blood Donation.
