KCW girls shine in Kick Boxing

Punjab University kick Boxing Inter College held at PU Campus from 1st Feb to 3rd Feb 2018. Khalsa College for Women Civil lines Ludhiana begged second position in this tournament. Punjab University first time introduced this game. Students performed in various events and given their best performance in this tournament. In full contact event Neeharika (60) weight won gold medal, Aruna (48) won bronze medal, Shabnam and Jaspreet (70) won bronze medals.

In Low Kick event Reshma (56) won gold medal, Amandeep (48) won silver medal, Pallavi and Riya (70) won bronze medals. In Point Fight Deeksha (60) Taniya (70) won gold medals, Shaina (52), Sapna (55), and Sristpal (70) won bronze medals.

In Kick Light event Shatakshi (55), Simran (70) won silver medals and Amrit (70+) won bronze medal.Four gold medallist Neeharika, Reshma, Deeksha and Taniya selected for All India Inter University.

KCW Girls Shine in Rowing Tournament

Punjab University organised Rowing Inter College at Sukhna Lake from 1st Feb to 3rd Feb 2018. Khalsa College for Women Civil lines Ludhiana first time participate in this tournament. Our college girls showed best performance in this tournament. Our college four girls Pardeep kaur, Mankomal kaur, Shabnam and Priyanka won silver and bronze medals in various events like 2K.M Single scull,2k.m double scull, 2km 4 swip, 500m single scull, double scull and 500 m pair. In open weight events are 2km single scull, double scull,  2km pair, 2km swip four and 500 m double scull.

KCW Group dance team bring laurels by winning First Prize in National Youth Festival

The group dance team of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, won second prize at 33rd North Zone AIU Inter-University Youth Fest ‘Yuva MMahaUtsav’ 2017-18 held at Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana. It added feather to the cap of Panjab University, Chandigarh by coming in top two teams of North India, thereby qualifying for National Youth Festival to be held at Ranchi Universityin February , 2018. It is a proud moment for KCW for becoming the part of top 15 teams of India. The Youth Festival provides a platform to showcase the integrated and diverse talents of the emerging youth of India in the field of arts and culture. As many as 25 university teams from northern India participated in the festival.The Gangaur Ghoomar dance received thunderous applause from all the members present there and competed against the best teams across Northern India.
Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director, Department of Youth welfare, Panjab University Chandigarh gave the credit of the success to principal of college, contingent incharge, students, director of choreography Mr. Sanjeev Wadhwa (Director of Sanjeev Jimmy Dance Academy and school of performing arts) and Youth Welfare Department of PU for providing support to the team. Principal of the college, Dr. (Mrs) Mukti Gill also lauded the efforts of students and their mentors for bringing glory to the college and wished the team good luck for the upcoming All India Level National Youth Festival.

102 KCW Students get placed in Concentrix Campus placement drive

The placement cell of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized an in-campus placement drive by Concentrix India on January 12, 2018, under the stewardship of Mr. M. Balasubramanian (Recruitment Executive, Concentrix). Concenrix is a leader in high value global business services based in 25 countries with staff of more than 70,000 who speak more than 40 languages. The drive witnessed an overwhelming response. Around 150 final year students of BA, BSC, B.Com, BCA, BBA, MA and M.Com participated in the drive. A Power-Point presentation was given by Concentrix team regarding requirements of Company, job profile, learning and development programs, awards and recognition, salary package and career prospects. The presentation was followed by rigorous selection process which included HR round, voice and accent round, written aptitude test and interview. Finally 102 students got letter of expression of interest. Students were happy and said that the college has provided an excellent platform to explore good career opportunities. The principal of the college Dr.(Mrs.) Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts of the placement cell who provide a golden opportunity to the students and congratulated the selected students.

Alumni Meet at KCW

The good old days come alive yet again and Khalsa College for Women, civil lines Ludhiana organised an Alumni Meet cum Fair on Nov. 11, 2017 giving the esteemed alumna an opportunity to reconnect with their Alma Mater. The meet was a fascinating trip down the memory lane providing our members a platform to see old friends again and catch up with them. The mega event was organised with the constant cooperation and support of  Rachna Sharma, the vice president  and Shruti Nahar general secretary of alumni association.Neeru katyal ADC,Jagraon was the chief guest of the occasion.

Around 40 stalls ranging from delicacies such as gol gappa, chaat-papri, cup cakes, bhel puri and sweet dishes to a variety of apparel, jewellery,home decor, cosmetics, hand bags were put up by the former and the current students of the college was the center of attraction. Besides there were stalls by NGOs and NSS unit of the college. The event kick started with the college shabad gayan followed by various performances such as songs, dances and giddha etc by the alumna and the present students.

Rav Saini, punjabi singing sensation enthralled the audience with his melodious voice. Walking back in time through the corridors of KCW our illustrious members recalled the happiest moments, unforgettable experiences, posed for the photographs, recreated and relived the moments once more.

Vice principal Mrs. Sumedha Wadhwa extended heart felt gratitude to the alumni on behalf of the college principal, managing committee, staff and students.

Punjab University volleyball inter college successfully finished at Khalsa College for women Ludhiana. Last day league match played between Khalsa College for women Ludhiana and Bhag Singh College Abohar.Khalsa College for women win the match. Final league match played between Guru Gobind Singh college sec 26 chd and GTB Kh College Dasuya.Guru Gobind Singh College Sec 26 Chd win the match. Guru Gobind Singh College begged first place in the tournament. GTB Dasuya College begged second and Khalsa College for women is on third place.

P.U.Volleyball Inter College A &B Division is in progress at Khalsa College for women, civil lines Ludhiana. First knock out match played between Gopi Chand Abohar and Dashmesh Girls College Badal.Gopi Chand Abohar College win the match and qualify for the league match.Second final match played between MBBG RC Girls college Mansowal and MBG Govt college Pojawal.MBG Govt college winners of this inter college.MBBG.RC Girls college Mansowal begged second place and MGKMSS.P.E Jhakroudi is on third place. First league match played between Khalsa college for women civil lines Ludhiana and GTB College Dasuya.GTB College Dasuya win the match. Second league match played between GGS College sec 26 chd and Gopi chand Abohar.GGS sec 26 chd win the match.

KCW bags Overall Trophy at Prof. Mohan Singh Memorial inter- college competitions

Khalsa College for Women civil lines ludhiana organized Prof. Mohan Singh Memorial Inter-College Competitions on 8 Nov, 2017. Dr. Paramjit Passi Associate prof. Punjabi Department was the convener of the event. Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Senior Fellow, Punjabi Department from Punjabi University and member of Punjabi Advisory Board was the Guest of Honour. The vice Principal Mrs. Sumedha Wadhawa extended a floral welcome to the guest. 14 teams from various colleges participated in the competition.

The judges for the various Competitions were: Dr. Ravinder from Guru Gobind Singh College Kamalpur for Good Handwriting. Mrs. Kakul Gill, ex-Student and ex-lecturer of Khalsa College for Women for Poster making Competition. Dr. Narinderjit Kaur from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana for Flower arrangement & Pudding Competitions and for Poem Recitation, Shri Prem Singh Bajaj retired Principal of DAV College, Jagraon. Dr. Satpal Singh Associate Prof. from Arya College and                    Dr. Amarpreet Kaur senior teacher from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Moga were in the panel of judges.
