Celebrated Global recycling day

Eco Club of Khalsa College For Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana celebrated Global recycling day in collaboration with switch for change organization to create awareness drive showcasing the innovative recycled items made of tyres, plastic bottles, bottle caps, wooden logs, etc. that encourage sustainable production and consumption. The event urges everyone to rethink their consumption patterns and adopt responsible waste disposal habits. By integrating the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle into our daily lives, we can collectively reduce landfill waste, save energy, and protect the planet for future generations.

Every year on March 18th, the world comes together to observe Global Recycling Day, a crucial initiative dedicated to promoting recycling as a key part of a sustainable future. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of treating waste as a valuable resource and encourages individuals, businesses, and governments to take action towards a circular economy.

This year’s theme, “Recycling Heroes,” recognizes individuals, communities, and organizations that have made significant contributions to recycling efforts worldwide. With climate change and environmental degradation posing increasing challenges, recycling plays a vital role in reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and cutting down carbon emissions.

As part of the Global Recycling Day celebrations, Our recycling heroes, Mr. Gaurav, Founder switch for change organization, Ms. Aman and Mrs. Veena Rekhi were honoured by Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kamaljit Grewal. She applauded the efforts of the members of Eco Club and extended her best wishes to all the participating organizations.

These efforts aim to educate and inspire individuals to take action toward a cleaner, greener world.
