Commencement of 64th Annual Athletic Meet at Khalsa College for Women

Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, inaugurated two-day Annual Athletic Meet on March 7, 2025.  Eminent personality Dr. Rakesh Malik, Director, Physical Education & Sports,  P.U Chandigarh, graced the event as chief guest and S. Sukhdev Singh Pannu Dronacharya awardee (Athletics) was the Guest of Honor.  S. Teja Singh Dhaliwal, General Secretary, Punjab Basketball Association and District Sports Officer Mr. Kuldeep Chugh were among the esteemed guests of the day.  Director Dr. Mukti Gill, the Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, college Managing Committee and the students extended a warm welcome at the arrival of the guests in the college premises. Madam Kushal Dhillon, Member Managing Committee, KCW, also graced the occasion. The meet kick started with the march past by the students. The guest of the occasion by taking the salute of march past and hoisting flag declared  opening of the Athletic Meet. Balloons of various hues rose merrily towards the sky mesmerizing the spectators and spreading the message to the participants to reach for the sky in their efforts.  An oath to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship was also administered by the students. In his address Dr. Malik, highlighted the importance of sports in life and added that apart from commemorating victories, sports events also impart lessons on discipline, sportsman spirit and camaraderie. The guest also appreciated the dedication and commitment of the institute towards Sports, cultural activities and academics. He congratulated the Management and Principal on their achievements. A power packed Martial Art show  was delivered by the students showcasing courage and valour highlighting the importance of health and fitness. Student Council presented a Nukkad Natak Zindagi Khoobsurat Hai  spreading a message of accelerating action towards gender equality; empowering women and weaker sections of society.

A unique display of stamina, competitive spirit and precision was showcased as participants strove to prove their best in various sports events which included 50-meter race, Javelin Throw, Shot Put, High Jump, Spoon Potato Race, Long Jump, Three-legged race etc. The day was filled with exciting victories.
