Poster Making Competition to Celebrate World Consumer Rights Day

Department of Economics, Khalsa College for Women , Civil Lines, Ludhiana organised Poster Making Competition to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day  on March 13 , 2025 under the theme “A Just Transition to Sustainable Living.” The event aimed to raise awareness about sustainable consumption, environmental responsibility, and the role of consumers in fostering a greener future.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from around 30 students from various streams who creatively depicted themes such as renewable energy, ethical consumerism, waste reduction, and climate justice. The posters showcased thought-provoking messages, vibrant artwork, and innovative ideas on how societies can transition to sustainability while ensuring fairness for all.

Judges for the event , Dr. Khusdip Kaur from Department of Commerce and Ms. Ashu from Department of Fine Arts, evaluated the posters based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and visual impact. Gurleen kaur from B.A.II, Manveer from B.A.I and Ishika from B.A. III were adjudged Ist , IInd and IIIrd respectively. Tanisha from B.Com I won Consolation prize. Winners were awarded with trophies and all the participants were given certificates.

Director Dr.Mukti Gill and College Principal Dr.Kamaljit Grewal applauded the efforts of Economics Department and emphasized the importance of informed choices, eco-friendly practices, and policy advocacy in achieving a just transition. They said this competition reinforced the message that every consumer plays a vital role in shaping a greener, more equitable world.
